Therapy is a collaborative process designed to support meaningful, sustainable change. Together, we will identify treatment goals, explore patterns that may be affecting your well-being, and build practical strategies for managing stress, emotions, relationships, and the demands of daily life. The work is quantum and, overtime, your inner and outer reality will start to shift.
Sessions may include reflection, skill-building, education about perinatal mental health, nervous system regulation, and strategies you can use between appointments. The pace is thoughtful and supportive, while still helping our time together feel focused and purposeful.
If you are postpartum or caregiving, therapy will take into account the real demands of this time. Babies are welcome when needed, interruptions are understood, and you do not need to have everything together to be here. Therapy is your space.

Many clients come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to navigate grief, self-worth, and changing relationships during this season of life. Services are available to adults age 21 and older who are located in Oregon.

Yes. Niara Counseling offers HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients throughout Oregon. Virtual sessions offer flexibility while maintaining privacy, connection, and quality of care. Clients must be physically located in Oregon at the time of each appointment.
-
Some clients come for short-term support around a specific concern, such as anxiety during pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, or a major transition. For others, therapy becomes a longer-term space to process loss, trauma, or deeper identity and relationship shifts. We will revisit your goals over time and decide together what pace and duration feel most supportive for you.

Niara Counseling is a private-pay practice.
If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement from your insurance provider. A detailed monthly superbill is available for submission.
A simple guide is also available to help you check your out-of-network benefits before beginning therapy.
-
You can contact the member services number on the back of your insurance card to ask whether your plan includes out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health therapy. It may also help to ask whether you have a deductible, what percentage of each session may be reimbursed, how to submit superbills, and whether there is a deadline for submitting claims.
You are responsible for confirming your coverage directly with your insurance provider. Niara Counseling can provide superbills to support claim submission, but reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed sessions, are billed at the full session rate because that time is reserved for you. I understand that illness and unexpected pregnancy, postpartum, or parenting needs can arise. If something comes up, please contact me as soon as possible so we can make a plan.

Yes. Support is available, and postpartum concerns are not limited to a specific timeframe. Clients come to therapy at many stages of the reproductive and parenting journey, including before pregnancy, after a loss, while preparing for birth, during the postpartum period, or years later when new parenting, identity, relationship, or mental health concerns arise. You do not need to be currently pregnant or actively parenting to seek support.
-
You can request a free 15-minute consultation to see whether Niara Counseling may be a good fit. During the call, we’ll briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy, what kind of support you’re looking for, and what working together may look like. If we decide to move forward, I’ll send your intake forms through the secure client portal and we’ll schedule your first telehealth session.
-
Yes. Postpartum planning can be included as part of perinatal therapy. If you are pregnant and we are working together, we can use session time to think through the fourth trimester, including visitors and boundaries, rest and sleep, feeding choices, division of labor, relationship changes, and mental health supports. This keeps planning connected to your therapy goals and gives us space to revisit and adjust your plan over time.

If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, it may help to ask your insurance company:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
